35 Weeks

Not long to go now and as you can see Aiko is fit to burst. Still able to mock my training efforts as you will see elsewhere! Some measurement make the doctors think the baby will come early and that’s good news for Aiko! We’ve got an elaborate set of plans to initiate depending on what day and time of day things start to happen. It’s could be a close run thing for John to make it to the birth if traffic is bad !!!!don’t like things to be too easy do we!!

BootCamp

We must have reached middle age or maybe it’s just the early onset of senility as we recently mad our first purchase from a telephone hotline. We can ‘proudly’ announce we own something ‘ as seen on TV ’. Now what could have persuaded us to take this journey??…. Well it’s Billy’s Boot camp of course!!Since moving to Yokohama John has put on a bit of weight and doesn’t seem able to get running again. so some home exercise was required. It’s a weight loss in 7 workouts or you money back deal but so far not much improvement but we’re still hopeful. There are some highly disturbing ‘before’ shots somewhere but they will be kept out of sight for safety reasons. Here’s a taster of what you’re missing- I thought I would look a bit of an ass but…oh I do!!!

Jump

Nothing much to say about this- here is Archie jumping down some steps

Shonan Beach Trip

We met up with Hiro and Hiroko- friends from Hiroshima who are also expecting. Rather than meet at ours or theirs we went south to the beach. Even though it’s the rainy season and the weather wasn’t that great it was still relatively busy. Archie wasn’t that interested in going in the water and seemed to be obsessed with going in the opposite direction.

Off to the Footy

Friends of John V. had got some tickets so the boys went off to watch a football match at Yokohama Nissan Stadium while the Girls (includes the unborn daughter) went to Lalaport- maybe the biggest shopping mall in Yokohama. With some older children at the game there were more people keeping an eye on and entertaining Archie so John was able to have a few beers. Archie was pretty good although did enjoy running around, up and down the stairs more than the game itself so John didn’t see much of the game- which Yokohama gallantly lost to Chiba JEF United. Some shocking defending even if the fat mid 30something does say so himself…hopefully the Billy Blanks Boot camp fitness DVD will work some magic but that. as they say, is another story/embarrassing blog entry. After the game and a battle to get through the jam-packed train station (40,000 attended the game) everyone met up so the boys could help carrying the bags at Lalaport. In all Aiko managed to stay in the shopping center for 7 hours - and she wonders why she’s tired?!!!

Sun Live

To break the Sunday up a little we popped down to a local shopping centre - it’s the rainy season and this place has a balloon ‘room’ which is good fun- especially for John!! He also managed to squeeze a quick game of Mario kart in and safely secured 1st place,…..wonder if it’s still possible to buy a SNES these days...

John (and Aiko) also tried a rather cheesy foot massage machine after a Mario Kart. John certainly enjoyed as you can see!!!

After all of that,Aiko wondered who this shopping trip was for......

Night out

With the advantage of having Aiko’s parents to look after Archie we were allowed to have a night out. Met up with Yoko-chan, James, Kiyoshi and went for a Tabehodai (eat all you can) at a healthy buffet. We then moved on to the shack for a few final drink- . Clearly Kiyoshi was finding it hard to hold it together!!!
