Sun Live

To break the Sunday up a little we popped down to a local shopping centre - it’s the rainy season and this place has a balloon ‘room’ which is good fun- especially for John!! He also managed to squeeze a quick game of Mario kart in and safely secured 1st place,…..wonder if it’s still possible to buy a SNES these days...

John (and Aiko) also tried a rather cheesy foot massage machine after a Mario Kart. John certainly enjoyed as you can see!!!

After all of that,Aiko wondered who this shopping trip was for......

Night out

With the advantage of having Aiko’s parents to look after Archie we were allowed to have a night out. Met up with Yoko-chan, James, Kiyoshi and went for a Tabehodai (eat all you can) at a healthy buffet. We then moved on to the shack for a few final drink- . Clearly Kiyoshi was finding it hard to hold it together!!!

We ‘Hird’ you were in town.

What a cheesy pun! Caught up with The Shige-Hirds briefly-Lisa is growing up fast but still the cheeky little girl - Alina is almost walking and Archie is somewhere in between ! Had a little meal together and then down to the local park for some fun!

Gang-tastic

Rather last minute we decided to leave our ordered meal deliveries behind and rush to Hiroshima for a pre birth visit. An advantage of the timing was also that we could meet (for one last time) the Hakushima gang- Kazuma-kun, Rin-chan, Harumi-chan, Shota-kun, Tomo-kun. Rina-chan (No Saki-chan, or Rika-chan) and especially Shota-kun is moving to Ehime, this was good chance to catch up with them and say good-by! It was raining so Rin-chans mum kindly let us go back to theirs- she must be mad. All the normal ‘fun’ with 7 children- toys everywhere. Shota-kun also seems to enjoy kissing overweight westerners!

Sunday at the park

After the fun of Saturdays BBQ it was a quiet Sunday rounded off with a quick trip to the (very) local park. Archie has a good time and, apart from the fear of him falling or being run over by a bike, we do as well. This time he found a friend to play with as you can see.

As you can see John has been having fun with the movies again- this is his first with music- can you remember this Golden Oldie?

Arctic Monkey Boy

Nothing to explain here- here is Archie dancing-, if you can call it that, to the Arctic Monkeys new album. Once again the film is somewhat spoiled by the narrators rather inane ramblings...where do we get him from!

Saturday with the Vartys

This weekend we had some good friends over for fun and dinner. Actually dinner consisted of a late night BBQ that got very smoky so we're not posting any evidence as it may be used in court against us....

John V and Yumi-san have two daughters so it was the usual case of Archie trying to hug them and being looked after- there's nothing like older woman to keep him in line!

We went to one of our local park where John V and John H tried to pretend they were still young by running around and picking up children although at maxmum (children) weights ranging up to 25kg it's a surprise no hospital visits were needed.

The weather was lovely and it was a great day 'in'

Another town another zoo!

Well as Archie is keen on animals and we have a zoo nearby we took a trip last weekend. We had company as our friend from the US, Erica, was over for a business trip so it meant another helper/watcher….very useful especially as Aiko isn’t as speedy on her feet these days!First off once we entered were the Elephants- funny how the first stop was Archie’s favourite and the last stop was ours- the Haagen Dazs shop was just outside of the exit- a great goal to have!Along the way we saw many animals and Archie also took an opportunity to hang out with some locals! Just before the exit was a park to allow him to burn off any remaining energy and then off for an ice cream!

New baby- Ayu chan

One of our friends from Hiroshima has recently had her second baby and as her parents live in Yokohama this is where she had the delivery. As we're close we went to see the new baby and also to give Aiko a chance to meet up with Kaito-kun and Saki-chan his old friends. Baby Ayu-chan was very cute and reminded us of what lies ahead for us in a few months time.... a lot of hard work. Archie still hasn't got this baby 'thing' so was more content with running around being chased or chasing other or an old favourite- eating!

Trip to NHK stadio to see Wanwan

Lin-chan came to Tokyo so we took the chance to met up and go to NHK to see Wan-wan the dog and other things….lots of running around bit too much excitement in one day and eventually Both Lin chan and Archie were tired and both fell asleep- joy!!! Took the chance to go for a quick break ourselves - cake and glass of white wine! Lovely. After all the fuss and historical excitement Archie wasn’t that excited but it was at the end of the day when he finally made his appearance. Think Aiko was more amused that the dogs tail was similar to an erect male appendage …. Aiko!!!!
